South Haven

Bird’s Nest has lots of birds that surround the lush property to help you feel relaxed in no time. The beautifully decorated vacation home sleeps up to 10 people. From the fire pit to the all season pool table on the lower deck, there is plenty to do on the property. Sunset View Park and the beach are close by to the property.

 

Boho Chateau has plenty of space for you and 11 others to spread out and relax. Take in the amazing views of the lake from the front deck. Grill out in the backyard on the spacious patio. Be sure to leave room for dessert  while taking it easy around the fire pit! You’re just steps away from South Beach, Kid’s Corner, bike trails, and downtown. 

 

Bonjour SoHa has room to accommodate 15 people. A few houses away is the neighborhood pool. The beach and downtown are a short walk from the property and the neighborhood is adjacent to the VanBuren Trail. 

 

Cozy Cottage is a part of the Cottages on Wash association. The cottage has room for ten and can be rented with Haven Hideaway to accommodate larger groups. Access points to the beach and downtown are close by to the property. 

 

SoHa Beach Retreats is perfect for large gatherings of up to 14. The beach retreat is steps away from Lake Michigan. On the deck you’ll find a hot tub and gas grill. The Kal-Haven Trail and downtown are close by making this a great place to make lots of memories.

 

Twilight Ridge has room to sleep up to 12 in this beautifully maintained ranch home. Sit back, relax and enjoy the lake views as well as the beautiful sunsets. Located in the heart of South Haven, you’ll have access to downtown, the riverfront, and the public beaches.

 

Properties Accommodating Small – Medium Groups

 

65 Bluff Drive is ready to be your home away from home. Comfortably sleep up to eight in this spacious contemporary home. Relax with a beverage/snack and take in the views from the porches. When you stay here, you’re steps away from private beach access.

 

Dale Cottage is a spacious vacation home with room for eight people. Numerous beach access points are close by from this charming rental. 

 

Ground Floor Getaway sleeps six comfortably. You’re in the perfect location being close to downtown and the beach. On-site amenities include two movie theaters, exercise room, fire pit, and year round indoor/outdoor pool.

 

Happy Landings has the farmhouse coastal charm. With plenty of room for eight people, you’ll be making memories as soon as you step foot in the house. During your stay use the built-in fire pit, gas grill, hot tub, and bike. The tram/stair access point to the beach is just a short walk away. 

 

Haven Hideaway by Cottages on Wash is in the perfect location for your next getaway. With room to accommodate six people, the cottage is one block from the 1st Street Beach access. There are multiple other beach access points close by too! After a fun filled day, relax in the private backyard or on the screened in porch. If you need more space, check out the sister property Cozy Cottage. 

 

Hydrangea Haven is steps away from the private association beach access. This lovely contemporary vacation home has room to accommodate eight. The beautiful landscaping around the home gives that perfect feel of a vacation home. Sit out on the front deck and let the sound of the waves take you into a state of relaxation. 

 

Shady Nook will melt your worries away as soon as you step foot in this cute vacation home. There’s space for up to eight people and the kitchen is stocked with all of the essentials including seating for everyone. Spend your evenings relaxing by the fire pit. Take a 10 minute walk and you’ll find the “blue stairs” that take you down to the beach!

 

Sunchaser is a cute and cozy cottage with room for six. Located not far from the beach, this is a perfect place to make summer memories. The front yard has gorgeous views of Lake Michigan and the backyard has a gas grill, Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit. 

 

Saugatuck/Douglas

Little Grey Cottage has an abundance of space for up to 10 people. When it’s time to relax, enjoy some quiet time on one of the two porches or in the hammock in the backyard. Just down the street is the access point for the beach. After spending some time at the beach, rinse off back at the house at the outdoor shower.

 

My Blue Haven is the perfect retreat to enjoy the beauty of West Michigan. This home has everything needed to make it your home away from home including room for nine people. Partial views of Lake Michigan can be seen from the house with access to the beach right across the street. Saugatuck/Douglas and Fennville are a short drive away. After a day of fun, swap memories by the firepit. 

 

Tranquility has plenty of space for larger groups to gather. With room to sleep up to 12 and a great outdoor space, get ready to make a ton of memories! The property is on a wooded lot so you’ll be able to enjoy the peace and quiet. Ready for a beach trip? The beach is about a 5 minute drive. After a fun filled day, relax and swap stories by the fire pit.

 

Westshore Waters comfortably sleeps ten and is in a quiet lakeshore neighborhood. Enjoy the two sun decks, outdoor grilling area, and the fire pit. The heated pool is perfect for diving in and soaking in the sun. When it’s time to hit the beach, Douglas Beach is close to the property.

 

 

Properties Accommodating Small – Medium Groups

 

Dolce Vita is the place to be for a Pure Michigan Experience. This whimsical retreat comfortably sleeps eight and has multiple spaces indoor and outdoor for relaxing or entertaining. Enjoy the peace and quiet with panoramic views of the woods. Private beach access is a short walk way!

 

Douglas Cottage will have you feeling refreshed from the moment you walk through the door. With room for six people and a fire pit in the fenced in yard, you’ll have everything needed to make some great memories. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning on the screened in front porch. The cottage is right in the middle of Douglas with a 10 minute walk to downtown. You’ll also be within walking distance to Douglas Beach! 

 

Fields of Fennville will have you feeling right at home as soon as you walk in. The ranch style home sleeps up to six and sits on five acres. Beach access is close by and the property is in the middle of Saugatuck and South Haven.

 

Hidden Ravine is newly remodeled, professionally decorated, and has plenty of room for up to six people. Relax by the stone fireplace or head outside and relax on the deck or by the fire pit. You’re just a quick walk or bike ride away from Douglas Beach. Downtown Saugatuck/Douglas are minutes away as well as Oval Beach. 

 

In The Trees is nestled on a wooded lot and a great place for six people to enjoy a vacation together. Steps away from the house is Lake Michigan and beach access is about a three minute walk away. When it’s time to unwind in the evening, use the hot tub, lay in the hammock, or gather by the firepit. 

 

Lakeside Cottage is the perfect getaway for two. The studio style cottage is stocked with the necessities to have a great vacation. Sit on the screened in porch and let the sound of the waves of Lake Michigan take you into a state of relaxation. Lake access is right across the street while Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven are short drives away. 

 

Lucky Penny is perfect for a cozy getaway for up to four people. If you want to bring more people, there is a camper/rv hookup on the property. The property sits in the middle of Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven. Ready for a beach day? The public lake access point is about a mile away. 

 

Piccolo Cottage is great for a cozy getaway for four people. The cottage is quaint and full of character giving it the name “Piccolo”. The patio and sunroom are perfect for taking it easy and the beach is a short walk away! Downtown Douglas or Saugatuck is a quick bike or car ride away. 

 

Sunset Bluff is the place to make some memories. Enjoy laughs by the fire pit, meals on the deck, and beautiful sunsets. Inside the home, you’ll have plenty of space for up to eight people. Helping to add to the memories, the beaches are close by.

South Haven Harborfest June 16th &17th 

Celebrate South Haven’s maritime culture and heritage at the harborfest! During the two-day event enjoy a variety of activities including carnival rides, live music, Dragonboat races, and more. No matter your age, it’s a great event to enjoy the waterfront and sun!

 

Antique & Classic Boat Show June 17th, 10am-4pm

The 42nd annual antique and classic boat show celebrates all kinds of small water crafts. Collectors and woodworkers will show off their boats as well as demonstrate boat building techniques. Toy boat building will be available for kids to participate in. 

 

Merfest International June 23rd- June 25th

Calling all mermaid enthusiasts to a weekend of fun! The festival will feature water park activities, live music, water performances, and of course, mermaids. The vendor area will have a range of merchandise including jewelry and accessories.

Town Crier Races June 17th

Runners or walkers: on your mark, get set, go! Whether you’re wanting to do the 5k, 10k, or half marathon, there’s a race for you! All participants will receive a cool finisher medal, t-shirt, and more. Event proceeds will go to funding the Saugatuck High School Cross Country and Track teams. Registration ends on June 17th at 9:15am.

 

Douglas Dutchers Vintage Base Ball Club Game June 24th, 2pm

Cheer on the Douglas Dutchers as they play against the Elkhart County Railroaders! The club was formed to promote historical education in the community through an 1860 vintage setting. Sporting events have taken place on the field since the 1860s. 

 

Allegan Antiques Market June 25th, 8am-4pm

Known for the large diversity of quality merchandise, the antiques market is the place to be for an antiques enthusiast. Admission is $5 per person and the market is open from 8am-4pm rain or shine. There are hundreds of dealers inside and outside under canopies.   

 

Concert in the Cove June 25th, 1pm

Nate Holley will be performing at this year’s concert! Bring your boat or anything that floats! Don’t have a boat? Rental options are available. The boat parade kicks off starting in front of the Saugatuck Yacht Club before heading to the cove.

The 4th of July is just around the corner! Regardless of where you’re staying along the lakeshore, there are plenty of activities to enjoy during the holiday weekend. To assist you in planning, we’ve compiled a list of events happening in South Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas.

 

South Haven

Runners on your mark, get set, go! Al-Van’s Firecracker Furry 5K starts at 8am on Saturday, July 1st at Kid’s Corner Park. The event also has a Paws on Parade one mile walk. Make sure to register early! All registration money goes to the Al-Van Humane Society.  

 

South Haven’s Art Fair will take place at Stanley Johnston Park from 10am-5pm on Saturday, July 1st and from 10am-4pm, Sunday, July 2nd. The two-day event features a variety of arts including painting, drawings, glass, jewelry, and more!

 

Stop by the Farm Market on Saturday, July 1st and pick up some things for a cookout! The market runs from 8am-2pm and features meats, cheeses, herbs, flowers, fresh produce and more. 

 

Light Up the Lake fireworks will take place at dusk on July 3rd. View the show from Riverfront Park or at North & South Beaches. 

 

What’s the 4th of July without a parade? The 4th of July parade kicks off at 11am and steps off from South Haven High school. Featuring floats, marching bands and more, the parade will move through downtown.

Saugatuck

Showcasing the work of 60 artists working in a variety of media, the Waterfront Invitational Fine Art Fair is the place for art enthusiasts to be on Saturday, July 1st. The fair is from 9am-5pm and will be taking place at Saugatuck Village Square. Proceeds will go to scholarships for students studying the arts and will support the arts in Saugatuck/Douglas. Admission is free! 

 

For a beautiful way to start your Saturday (July 1st), come do yoga in the lavender fields and gardens at Summerhouse Lavender Farm. All yoga levels are welcome and mats are provided. Make sure to register before it fills up! Registration is $20. 

 

Pick up some fresh produce and more for your cookout at The Market At SCA on Tuesday, July 4th! The market runs from 10am-2pm so you’ll have time to stop by before the parade. 

 

Speaking of parades, the 4th of July Parade starts at noon and marches down Butler Street. Featuring members of the armed forces, marching bands, floats, and more, parades are fun for the whole family. 

 

Let’s not forget about the fireworks! Kicking off at dusk, there’ll be fireworks and laser light shows in Saugatuck and Douglas. Grab a blanket, chair, and snacks and head to Cook Park, Coghlin Park, Wade’s Bayou, and Wick’s Park and enjoy the show!

 Blueberry Beach House is spacious enough for ten people. The Harbor Club Marina & Resort is close by where you can rent golf carts, boats, kayaks, and more. Fabulous restaurants and the beach are close by as well. During your stay you’ll have access to the community fire pits and heated pool. 

 

Bonjour SoHa has room to accommodate 15 people. A few houses away is the neighborhood pool. The beach and downtown are a short walk from the property and the neighborhood is adjacent to the VanBuren Trail.

 

 Harbor Haven comfortably sleeps up to 12. Located in the Harbor Club Community, the property is near North and South Beaches. The clubhouse and pool are perfect spots to relax. For a more adventurous outing, boat and golf cart rentals are available. 

 

SoHa Escape is perfect for 11 people and sits in the Harbor Club community. When you stay here, you’re a short distance to the community pool and beach access points. Downtown is close by making this vacation truly a Pure Michigan experience.

 

The Wheeler House has plenty of room for 16 people. This luxury vacation home is stocked with activities and amenities to make your vacation feel one of a kind. The heated pool with an auto cover and cabana offers the perfect resort feeling.

Black River Condo sleeps up to six and downtown along with the beaches are a few blocks away. During your stay, kick back and relax at the association’s indoor heated pool and hot tub. 

 

Endless Summer is perfect for up to four people. The condo association’s pool is conveniently located and many beach access points are close by. Downtown is a quick drive from the property while Saugatuck is about 15-20 minutes via the Blue Star Highway. 

 

Good Vibes on the River comfortably sleeps six and is two blocks from Oak Beach. The patio overlooks the association pool and the marina. 

 

Ground Floor Getaway is within walking distance of downtown and sleeps six comfortably. On-site amenities include two movie theaters, exercise room, fire pit, and year round indoor/outdoor pool.

 

Harbours #3 is a fantastic beachfront condo with room for nine people. You’ll have access to the community pool and private beach during your stay. In the evenings, relax on the deck and take in the beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan. 

 

Harbours #9 is close enough to the beach for you to hear the waves crash. Lounge by the condo association’s pool or head down to the beach for a day in the sun. You’re just a short stroll away from downtown and the many shops and restaurants.

 

Harbours #10 has views of the pool and beach from the front decks. Located in the Harbours Condo Association, the condo sleeps up to seven. Take a swim or relax in the association’s pool or head down to the private beach. Everything South Haven has to offer is close by making this the perfect place for a vacation. 

 

Harbours #25 is also located in the Harbours Condo Association and sleeps up to seven. Take advantage of the private beach for a beach day or head to the association’s pool for some pool time. The deck off the living room is the perfect spot to grill up some delicious food or to just sit back and relax on the patio furniture. Downtown is conveniently located to get some shopping done or to enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants. 

 

Harbours #26 is a bright and airy townhome that sleeps seven. A part of the Harbours Condo Association, you’ll have access to the association’s pool along with the private beach. Downtown is just minutes away making this a great place to make some summer memories. 

 

Harbours #27 is another great spot for seven people to make some memories. Enjoy the amenities the Harbours Condo Association has to offer including the pool. In the mood for some shopping? Downtown is minutes away from the unit. 

 

Harbours #44 is ready to be your home away from home.  The condo is spacious enough for five people. As a part of the Harbours Condo Association, you’ll have access to the private beach and the association’s pool. Downtown is minutes away making it convenient to do some shopping and enjoy a delicious meal out. 

 

Lola’s By The Lake comfortably sleeps eight and is equipped to make your vacation memorable. Located in the Harbor Club community, you’ll have access to a private marina and a heated pool at the clubhouse. The beaches and downtown are close by to the property. 

 

Mariners Cove #26 is your home away from home. This stylish condo on the Black River has enough space for six people. Spend some time relaxing on the balcony watching the boats go by. The community heated pool and beach access points are close by. 

 

North Shore Beach Retreat #5  is the perfect cozy getaway for up to four people. Located near downtown and non downtown amenities, you’ll have everything you need to make it a fun and relaxing vacation. The association’s pool is conveniently located for a swim or just to lounge in the sun.

 

North Shore #209 has views of the beach. As a part of the North Shore Condominiums, during your stay you’ll have access to the association’s pool and private beach. Enjoy a sunrise or sunset stroll along the beach. Downtown is within walking distance for your shopping and eating out needs. The condo has space for up to four people.  

 

North Shore #306 has all the amenities to make your vacation relaxing Located in the North Shore Condominiums, you’ll have access to the association’s pool and private beach. Public beaches are within walking distance as well as many shops, restaurants, and museums. This cozy condo can sleep up to four people. 

 

Parkshores #4 sits in the ideal location with just a short stroll to the beach. This charming condo has plenty of room for seven people and the deck is perfect for outdoor entertaining. The association’s pool is the perfect spot to lay in the sun or go for a swim. 

 

Sommer Water is located in the heart of downtown. Sit back and relax on balconies or go for a swim in the heated rooftop pool. This condo sleeps up to six people comfortably. 

 

Watertown Haven sits in South Haven’s Marina District and overlooks the beautiful harbor. This luxury condo has space for five people. Enjoy the views from the balconies or head up to the rooftop for a swim in the pool.

 

Saugatuck/Douglas

Goshorn House & Studio can accommodate up to 14 people. The wrap around porch is perfect for relaxing. Take a dip or float in the large pool that sits in the beautiful garden that is meticulously maintained. Downtown is a short distance from the home making this the perfect destination for making summer memories.

 

Paradise Found is the perfect property for groups of 18. Spend your days by the lake or pool and cozy up by the fire pit in the evenings. With a home gym, pool table, indoor basketball hoop, and sauna, you’ll feel like you’re in a resort!

Big Bear Cabin sits in the Kingfisher Cove with room for eight people. The cabin has  “up north” vibes but is about two minutes from downtown. Relax on the porch overlooking the community pool or in the full size hot tub on the screened in porch. The community pool is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day.

 

Gecko Getaway is the destination for an “up north” feeling while being close to downtown Saugatuck. Part of the Kingfisher Cove, the cabin sleeps eight and the screened-in porch has a full size hot tub. Enjoy some time on the front porch overlooking the community pool. 

 

Our Get Aweigh  can be found in the Kingfisher Cove as well. Complete with the “up north feeling” the cabin sleeps eight comfortably. There’s lots of indoor and outdoor things to do in this community including the community pool, no-wake Goshorn Lake, and canoe rentals. Don’t forget about the full size hot tub on the screened in porch! 

 

Goshorn Lake #5 in the Goshorn Lake Resort is the perfect cozy getaway for up to four people.  During your vacation, take advantage of the resort amenities including the pool, basketball hoops, and more. After a fun filled day on Goshorn Lake, relax on the screened in porch, or grill out in the backyard. 

 

Goshorn #18 sits in the Goshorn Lake Resort and has space for six people. Everything needed to make the vacation perfect is close by including the lake and downtown. During your visit, you’ll have access to the resort’s pool, volleyball court, jungle gym, horseshoes, and basketball hoops. 

 

Illustrator Cottage is here to provide you with the best summer experience. The cottage is located in the Goshorn Lake Resort and sleeps up to four. Enjoy the amenities the resort offers including the pool, volleyball court, and more. The screened in porch is a great spot to relax with a morning coffee.

The days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer. The unofficial kickoff to summer is fast approaching. Whether you’re staying in South Haven or Saugatuck/Douglas, there’s plenty to do during the Memorial Day weekend. To help make planning a little easier, we’ve compiled a list of some fun things to do.

 

South Haven 

On Friday, May 26th, check out the Blessing of the Fleet/Season Kickoff Celebration at the Michigan Maritime Museum. Festivities kick off with the annual Blessing of the Fleet. South Haven harbor boats, Tallship Friends of Good Will, and Museum vessels will participate in the ceremony. Make sure to stick around after the ceremony for a fish fry! Tickets are available online and at the event. Lakeshore Antique Tractor Pullers will have their first official pull of the season on Saturday, May 27th. The event will take place at the Michigan Flywheelers Museum with the first hook starting at noon. Taking place on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th is the Auto Interests 14th Annual Memorial Day Weekend HPDE. Spectators get free admission but must register in advance. The course will run in a clockwise direction on Saturday and a counter clockwise direction on Sunday. Make sure to swing by the South Haven Farm Market on Saturday, May 27th for some cookout essentials. At the market you’ll find a nice variety of fresh produce, meats, cheese, flowers, and more! The Market will be open from 8am-2pm

Saugatuck/Douglas 

The Red Horse Porch Party is taking place on Saturday, May 27th. The event will have live music, an art auction, food and drink, and horses. Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids. Day of tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids. Kick off the start of summer at Waypost Brewing Co. It’s an adult field day with the release of Field Beer, lawn games and party chickens! Tastebudz food truck will be onsite. Featuring hundreds of quality dealers in every field of collectibles and antiques, Allegan Antiques Market will take place on Sunday, May 27th from 8am-4pm. Admission is $5 and parking is free. The exhibitors have a large variety of antiques specializing in pottery, glass, china, advertising, jewelry, and more. This is a must attend event for an antique lover. Kick off Memorial Day with Saugatuck’s Memorial Day Parade at 9am. The parade is sponsored by The American Legion and starts at Culver Street. Also happening on Memorial Day, is Douglas’ Memorial Day Parade. The parade will kick off at 10 am and start at Lake Vista SuperValu. It will then proceed down Center Street to Beery Field.

For southern style dishes check out The Southerner. The restaurant aims to tell the story of the Appalachian families who moved north to the Mitten State in the 1950’s. On the menu you’ll find Nana’s Fried Chicken that comes with two sides, sandwiches, mac & cheese, salads, shrimp & grits, and more. On the beverage menu are cocktails, wine, beer, and non alcoholic beverages. In downtown Saugatuck, Wicks Park Bar & Grille is serving up delicious dishes like homemade burgers, fresh lake perch, pasta, and New Orleans-style Gumbo in a casual atmosphere. For brunch in South HavenPhoenix Street Cafe on Broadway is serving up delicious options with friendly service and while providing a great atmosphere. Open daily from 7am-2pm, the cafe serves up delicious options from chicken and waffles to french toast,  crab cake benedict to jumbo pancakes. If you’d rather enjoy the lunch side of brunch, try the BLT, turkey cranberry sandwich, or the Mediterranean chicken bowl. They also serve soups and salads. Pair your food with coffee, Coke products, iced teas, or an adult beverage. For delicious drinks and food made with love, Cafe Julia combines beach vibes with a cozy at home atmosphere. Whether you’re in the mood for coffee, tea, smoothie, or a non-coffee beverage, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. Get there in time for breakfast (7:15-10:30 am) and try their breakfast sandwich or wrap. If you’re heading there around lunch time (11 am- 2:29 pm), be sure to try one of their sandwiches, salads, or soups. The cafe also has some tasty sweets including vegan and gluten free options! Comforting treats is Bundes Bakery Cafe specialty. Coffee cakes, muffins, scones, are just a few treats on the menu. Their coffee and tea options make an excellent pairing to those sweet treats.

South Haven 

Gardenside Cottage is set on two acres of private property and is just a short drive to the beaches and downtown. After a long day of fun, kick back and relax at the hot tub or fire pit. This lovely cottage sleeps up to eight guests and you’ll find plenty of parking for your toys. 

Close to Newcombe Beach, A Lighthouse Retreat sits on 4.5 acres. Relax by the fire pit, in the hot tub, or in the Yurt in the wooded area. You’re only a short drive to downtown South Haven for shopping and dining. This spacious 6 bedroom home sleeps up to 15 guests making it a perfect spot to have larger gatherings. 

The birds that surround the lush property will have you feeling relaxed while staying at The Birds Nest. The beautiful two-story home can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests. Within walking distance from the property, you’ll find the private beach and Sunset View Park. Downtown South Haven and downtown Douglas are both ten minute drives away while downtown Saugatuck is just a 15 minute drive. After a fun filled day, sit back and relax in the Adirondack chairs at the firepit, next to the Koi Pond. 

Enjoy a moment of Zen as soon as you step into Blueberry Beach House. This spacious house sleeps up to ten guests comfortably. The beach is just a short walk away as well as the Harbor Club Marina and Resort. There you can rent golf carts, low speed vehicles, boats, kayaks, paddle boards and bikes. Bringing your own toys? The Harbor Club Marina offers slips to rent. One of the difficult choices you’ll make is to eat out at one of the delicious restaurants nearby or to cook using the outdoor grill. 

A peaceful getaway is what you’ll get with your stay at Blueberry Pines. Eight guests will have plenty of room in this two house rental. Relax in the sandy shallows of North Lake or go fishing at the end of the private dock. Explore the lake using the provided kayaks or paddle board. A lily pad for swimming is also available. The fire pit is a great place to enjoy some s’mores or relax in the hot tub. For your dining, entertainment, and shopping experiences, South Haven, Fennville and Saugatuck are all a short drive away. 

It’s time to Escape to the Lake! Your quiet lakefront vacation home is calling for you and nine other guests to come and enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views of the lake. It’s the perfect place for tubing, water skiing or just taking it easy in the water. Take a quick 20 minute drive north to South Haven or a 15 minute drive south to St Joe to enjoy the wineries, breweries, and more! Back at the house, you’ll find a four seat paddle boat, a kayak and three paddle boards. The dock is available for private boats and two boat trailers are allowed on the property. 

Nestled atop a wooded dune, with a three tier open layout and stunning views of the lake, Gebhard Chalet is the perfect destination for up to eight guests. Just ten miles north of Benton Harbor and ten miles south of South Haven, you have access to the region’s attractions. On the way to the private beach there is a swing set with a gymnastics bar. Inside the home you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, a large island and an expandable dining table. On the decks, there is a gas grill, lounge furniture and a dining table. 

Located in the desirable rustic gated resort community of Palisades Park Country Club is Happy Days. The cozy cottage sleeps up to six guests and is only 15 minutes from South Haven. The open concept living area has plenty of seating, a fireplace, kitchen, skylights, a smart tv and the sunroom has plenty of games and cards. Outside is a large deck with a propane BBQ. Within the 600 acres of Palisades Park Country Club are hiking trails, areas for swimming and kayaking, or you can take a stroll along the boardwalk. Also in the area is a soda bar with snacks and ice cream. 

Six blocks from South Beach and four blocks from restaurants and shops, is School Street Haven. The space is perfect for a gathering of up to ten people. Inside the home is a ready-to-go kitchen, upper and lower living areas, two smart TVs, plenty of games, and a foosball table. Outside is a grill, patio and a fire pit. 

Located just across the street from Lake Michigan, you’ll send all your worries when you stay at Shady Nook. This cute home is ready for you and seven others to make great summer memories. There is a spacious backyard with a fire pit making it a perfect place to gather and relax after a long day. Close to the property is Kids Corner Park and South Beach. 

Saugatuck 

Located above the Roan & Black art gallery is a great place for an art enthusiast to stay! Roan & Black has private access to the house from the side of the building. You’re just a short drive away from everything downtown Saugatuck has to offer and the river is a mile away. Need a beach fix? Oval Beach is less than four miles away. This cozy getaway for four people has a screened in porch for you to enjoy a beverage. After a fun filled day of enjoying art, shopping, dining and the beach, cozy up around the fire pit in the backyard to reflect on the day. 

Just a couple blocks away from downtown Fennville, is Blue Comfort Inn. This beautiful large home sleeps up to eight guests and has an open kitchen and dining. In the kitchen you’ll find new appliances and the basics for a delicious homemade meal. Three of the bedrooms include smart TVS. Outside is a new hot tub, fire pit, and horseshoes.

Picture this: a private beach, a bonfire pit, an evening sky filled with stars, and the beautiful Lake Michigan. That’s exactly what you’ll get with your stay at Glenora Bluffs. The three-acre property is perfect for a large gathering of up to 14 guests. Sit on the deck and take in the views or go to the private beach and recharge as the waves crash over your feet. Want to go shopping or grab some ice cream? The property is conveniently located in between Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven. For an active vacation, you’ll find an assortment of activities including ladder ball, kayaks, inflatable water toys, corn hole, badminton, croquet, and a paddle board. Less than ten miles away is Kal-Haven Trail which is perfect for biking. 

Enjoy views of Lake Michigan from the front porch of Mr. Toad Cottage. The two-story house has plenty of room for ten guests and the kitchen has a built-in wine fridge. Enjoy a morning or evening beverage on the screened in porch. For some relaxation time, use the outdoor tv to stream some Netflix. Enjoy the stunning Lake Michigan views from the second floor balcony. When it’s time to hit the town, Fennville’s public beach is a mile up the road while South Haven and Saugatuck are only ten minutes away. Wanting to get the small town feeling? The charming Downtown Glenn is just a few minutes from the property. 

Looking for a charming getaway for up to 12 people? Look no further than Ros Na Cille in downtown Saugatuck. The cottage is a few hundred feet away from the river boardwalk and a five minute walk from the heart of downtown Saugatuck. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee on the patio and after a fun filled day, unwind with a movie night using the 48” tv and dvd player. Want some time to decompress? There is a cozy library right off the dining room with a door leading to another porch. This home may be on the older side, but it has been updated with modern conveniences and has a lot of porch space! 

Sitting in the middle of a six acre forest of hardwood trees is a chic and contemporary house with room for ten guests. Sanctuary House is perfect for a relaxing vacation with its spacious screened in porch surrounded by trees. Saugatuck and South Haven are about 15 minutes away on Blue Star Highway. Glenn’s beach is a half-mile walk on a path through the woods or just a quick drive away. The beach is rocky so we definitely recommend wearing water shoes! Back at the house, you’ll find a tennis court (with rackets) that is perfect for a match, a game of soccer or other sporty activities. There’s also lawn games, beach items, and a charcoal grill. After a day of fun, kick back and relax in the hammock or by the fire pit. 

Enjoy laughs by the fire pit, meals on the deck, and beautiful sunsets when you stay at Sunset Bluff. You’re just a short drive away from the local beaches. Inside the home, you’ll have plenty of space for up to eight people. Enjoy meals or relax in the spacious backyard overlooking Lake Michigan. 

Steps away from Downtown Saugatuck and surrounded by trees is Tall Trees. This cozy cottage has room for six guests and a screened in porch for your relaxation needs. Have a barbeque on the gas grill or if you don’t feel like cooking, enjoy one of the many delicious restaurants in Saugatuck/Douglas. Enjoy a summer evening making memories and s’mores around the fire pit.

Spring is going to be here before we know it! As the lakeshore begins to get busy and the streets are filled with the hustle and bustle of people enjoying the warmer weather, there are many opportunities for different events. To make planning easier, below is a list of events happening in South Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas during March and April

 

South Haven 

 

Learn about the Cryptozoology of the Great Lakes on March 23rd at 6pm. Michigan based author Shetan Noir will be at the South Haven Memorial Library to show fossil records, share Native American legends, and historical sighting reports of some of the creatures that may be lurking under the Great Lake’s surface. On March 25th (from 11am-6pm), support local businesses at Modales Artisan Market! Taking place rain or shine, the market will feature over 13 vendors throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces. Try some local wine and shop for local artisan goods.

 

Going to be on the lakeshore in April? Check out the Easter Egg Hunt at the Kal-Haven Outpost on April 8th. For $5 per child, there will be two hunts, one for kids ages 2-6 and one for ages 7-12. All eggs will have prizes/candy and there will be a food truck on the property. On April 27th, Andy Baker will host Heather Styka and Josh Rose at the Black River Tavern for the Songwriter Showcase. The evening will consist of songs, stories, and laughs. To add to the event, the food and bar will be open. Doors open at 6pm and the showcase begins at 7pm.  

 

Saugatuck/Douglas 

 

The Grace Theisen Band is playing Salt of the Earth on March 19th at 6pm. Grace is an Americana/Blues artist from Kalamazoo. Tickets are $20 in advance and all ticket proceeds will go to the artist. Looking for a fun way to stretch and meet people? On March 25th, check out Yoga and Beer brought to you by Encompass Wellness Yoga & Fitness Center. Wicks Park Bar & Grille is hosting this event. Tickets for the event are $20 and will include a complimentary beer after the 45 minute class. The class is open to all levels and space is limited so reserve your spot today! 

 

International musical sensation, Cowboy Junkies will be taking the stage at the Saugatuck Center of the Arts on April 8th. Playing country/blues/folk rock, Cowboy Junkies have been touring since 1985. Tickets are $65 and the event starts at 7pm. Check out Friday Night Flights on April 28th. Taking place on the last Friday of each month, flights will include 4 (2oz) pours of Modales Wines. Each month, there will be two different types of wine flights to choose from. Outside food is welcomed or you can purchase a cheese & charcuterie box served with a fresh demi-baguette from Field & Fire.
