Spring is going to be here before we know it! As the lakeshore begins to get busy and the streets are filled with the hustle and bustle of people enjoying the warmer weather, there are many opportunities for different events. To make planning easier, below is a list of events happening in South Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas during March and April

 

South Haven 

 

Learn about the Cryptozoology of the Great Lakes on March 23rd at 6pm. Michigan based author Shetan Noir will be at the South Haven Memorial Library to show fossil records, share Native American legends, and historical sighting reports of some of the creatures that may be lurking under the Great Lake’s surface. On March 25th (from 11am-6pm), support local businesses at Modales Artisan Market! Taking place rain or shine, the market will feature over 13 vendors throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces. Try some local wine and shop for local artisan goods.

 

Going to be on the lakeshore in April? Check out the Easter Egg Hunt at the Kal-Haven Outpost on April 8th. For $5 per child, there will be two hunts, one for kids ages 2-6 and one for ages 7-12. All eggs will have prizes/candy and there will be a food truck on the property. On April 27th, Andy Baker will host Heather Styka and Josh Rose at the Black River Tavern for the Songwriter Showcase. The evening will consist of songs, stories, and laughs. To add to the event, the food and bar will be open. Doors open at 6pm and the showcase begins at 7pm.  

 

Saugatuck/Douglas 

 

The Grace Theisen Band is playing Salt of the Earth on March 19th at 6pm. Grace is an Americana/Blues artist from Kalamazoo. Tickets are $20 in advance and all ticket proceeds will go to the artist. Looking for a fun way to stretch and meet people? On March 25th, check out Yoga and Beer brought to you by Encompass Wellness Yoga & Fitness Center. Wicks Park Bar & Grille is hosting this event. Tickets for the event are $20 and will include a complimentary beer after the 45 minute class. The class is open to all levels and space is limited so reserve your spot today! 

 

International musical sensation, Cowboy Junkies will be taking the stage at the Saugatuck Center of the Arts on April 8th. Playing country/blues/folk rock, Cowboy Junkies have been touring since 1985. Tickets are $65 and the event starts at 7pm. Check out Friday Night Flights on April 28th. Taking place on the last Friday of each month, flights will include 4 (2oz) pours of Modales Wines. Each month, there will be two different types of wine flights to choose from. Outside food is welcomed or you can purchase a cheese & charcuterie box served with a fresh demi-baguette from Field & Fire.
